5 Things to do in Penang

Qnet Hongkong wants to introduce visitors to the popular tourist destination Penang. This beautiful island is situated in the north-western part of Malaysia. Many people fondly refer to it as the country's culinary capital. Named from ‘Penang’ the Malay word referring to betel nut, this beautiful island attracts numerous visitors.
Here is what to do when you are here.
1.       George Town: present on the UNESCO World Heritage List this is a must visit place.  You will come across charming Chinese shop houses, art galleries, cafes, and little cozy stores here. Fort Cornwallis built by East India Company in the 18th Century is another oft-visited place. Get a map and start exploring.

2.       Batu Ferrenghi: this is the loveliest beach to visit in Penang. Situated on the North coast of the island you can soak in the sunshine or take part in water sports. Purchase souvenirs from the open-air bazaar and watch the local artists creating beautiful batik crafts.

3.       Penang National Park: this is the place of the splendorous scenic beauty and the quietest beaches. Monkey Beach is the most famous you can go for jungle treks, boat trips round the coast or canopy walk on tree tops.

4.       Penang Hill: get fantastic views of the mainland, Penang Bridge and George Town from this elevation of 833m. You can use the Penang Hill Railway to travel to the summit. Those adventurous enough can follow the many trails here. It is a great way to explore the rich fauna and flora of the place

5.       Street Food: New Lane in George Town is the best place to taste the inexpensive local delicacies. Do partake of the chee cheong and char koay teow, the specialty noodles. You can also try the fantastic Chinese dishes like congee and dim sum. The steaming shot of Teh Tarik is quite refreshing.
